Founded by artist, mother, and designer Marlena Wilding, La Mère was born from a simple but powerful realization: women’s bodies are constantly evolving, yet most clothing is still made as if our bodies should remain the same. La Mère was created to reverse that relationship.

About the Founder
Marlena Wilding is the founder and creative force behind La Mère Co. As an artist, designer, and mother, Marlena brings a deeply intuitive and body-conscious approach to fashion — one rooted in beauty, function, emotional intelligence, and reverence for women’s lived experiences.
She founded La Mère after experiencing firsthand how difficult it was to find clothing that felt beautiful, comfortable, and practical during pregnancy, nursing, postpartum, and the many changes that come with womanhood. Rather than accepting clothing that asked women to shrink, hide, or constantly readjust, she began designing pieces that could move with the body instead.
Her vision for La Mère is both practical and poetic: to create clothing that helps women feel at home in their bodies through every season of change.
